Understanding Aids: Meaning, Timing & Application - In-person Horseless Clinic

£70.00

In-Person Horseless Clinic
Understanding Aids: Meaning, Timing & Application
Sunday 8th February | 9:30am – 1:00pm

This is a horseless, indoor clinic, focused entirely on developing a deeper understanding of aids — what they are, what they mean to the horse, and how correct timing and application change everything.

Many training problems don’t come from a lack of effort or knowledge, but from unclear, mistimed, or conflicting aids. This clinic is designed to strip things back and create clarity, refinement, and consistency in how you communicate with your horse.

We will explore:
- What the different aids actually are and what they communicate
- How timing influences effectiveness and understanding
- Why how and when an aid is applied matters more than how strong it is

Aids covered include:
- Rein aids
- Leg aids
- Seat aids
- Weight aids
- Groundwork aids

We will also explore the concept of “aids before aids” — using:
- Body language
- Energy
- Breath

before any manual aid is applied. This level of communication creates a more refined conversation, reduces the need for stronger aids, and allows true connection and understanding to develop over time.

This clinic forms part of Quarter One of the Sound Happy Horse Pathway, which focuses on aids, understanding, timing, and application.
However, you do not need to be enrolled on the Pathway to attend — this clinic is open to anyone who wants to improve their communication, clarity, and effectiveness with their horse.
