How You’ll Learn to See What Others Miss
Train Your Eye is designed to help you build confidence step by step. You don’t need any specialist equipment or previous experience. All you need is your horse, a camera phone and a willingness to look a little differently.
Your enrolment also includes lifetime access to the challenge content and the private Facebook community, so you can repeat the challenge every time it runs, continue developing your observation skills and see how your horse changes over time.
Days 1–5: Learn one posture marker each day
Each day you’ll receive a short lesson introducing one of the five key posture markers.
You’ll then take a set of photographs of your own horse using the simple guidelines provided and learn how to identify and annotate each posture marker on your own photographs.
By the end of the first five days, you’ll have assessed each of the five posture markers individually, building a much clearer picture of how your horse is organising their body.
Share your findings and ask questions
As you work through the challenge, you can upload your annotated photographs into the private Facebook community.
I’ll be there to help you review what you’ve found, answer your questions and guide you if you’re unsure about anything.
You’re not expected to get everything right immediately. That’s all part of the learning process.
Day 6: Bring everything together
Once you’ve learnt all five posture markers, I’ll show you how to use the Train Your Eye scoring system.
This allows you to combine everything you’ve learnt into one simple assessment that helps you understand your horse as a whole, rather than focusing on individual pieces.
Day 7: Live Zoom session
We finish with a live Zoom session where we’ll review the challenge together, answer your questions and help you understand how to use everything you’ve learnt as you move forward with your own horse.
The goal isn’t simply to complete seven days.
It’s to give you a repeatable way of observing your horse that you can continue using throughout your horse’s life.
Learn From Tara Osborn
Tara Osborn is the founder of Long Drove Holistic Horse Training and specialises in helping horse owners understand the relationship between posture, movement, and long-term soundness.
Her work focuses on functional movement, musculoskeletal balance, and the compensation patterns that develop when a horse’s body is not working optimally. Through years of working closely with horses in training and rehabilitation, Tara has developed a strong ability to recognise the subtle signs that reveal how a horse is truly functioning.
A core part of Tara’s work involves posture and movement assessments, analysing how horses stand, move, and load their bodies in order to identify the patterns that often precede injury, tension, or performance issues.
What makes her approach different is her ability to translate complex biomechanical concepts into clear, practical observations that horse owners can understand and apply.
Rather than overwhelming people with complicated theory, Tara focuses on training the eye — helping owners recognise the key indicators that reveal what is happening within the horse’s body.
Through her teaching, Tara guides riders and horse owners to develop a deeper awareness of:
• posture and alignment
• loading patterns
• compensation strategies
• early warning signs of dysfunction
This observational skill is one of the most valuable tools a horse owner can develop, allowing them to make better decisions about training, management, and rehabilitation.
Train Your Eye has been designed to share these insights in a way that is accessible, practical, and immediately useful for horse owners who want to better understand their horses.
Learn To Recognise What’s Going On In Your Horse
Imagine looking at your horse and understanding why they stand the way they do, why certain muscles have developed, and why they move the way they do.
Throughout the challenge you’ll learn how to assess five key posture markers, recognise common compensation patterns and understand how balance, alignment and movement influence one another.
Rather than relying on guesswork or conflicting opinions, you’ll have a simple framework that helps you assess your own horse with greater confidence, whether you’re monitoring progress, planning your training or simply trying to understand what your horse is telling you.
